Christmas Quizicle

Saw this on Tiburon's and Melissa's blogs, so of course I had to play along... (feel free to play along, too.)

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Ugh! Who wants to waste all that time with paper, scissors and tape? Not me! Gift Bags All.The.Way.

2. Real tree or artificial? I currently have an artificial Charlie Brown tree (see yesterday's blog). It's less expensive to have a fake tree. Besides, you can burn an evergreen candle if you miss the smell.

3. When do you put up the tree? The weekend after Thanksgiving

4. When do you take the tree down? The day after I get back from Boise.

5. Do you like eggnog? Barf! It just feels so slimy going down. (I'm gagging just thinking about it.)

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Stompers and matchbox cars. I got tired of the boys always getting the "cool" toys for Christmas.

7. Do you have a Nativity scene? Of course! It's the Demdaco nativity. Mom and dad bought it all for me one year for my birthday and Christmas. I love it!!!

8. Hardest person to buy for? My brother Travis, but only because I have his name this year and have NO IDEA what to get him.

9. Easiest person to buy for? The niece and nephews.

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Anything with my birthstone. I despise my birthstone - yellow topaz or citrine. Puke!

11. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards? uhhh... you're supposed to mail out Christmas cards? When did this madness start???

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? National Lampoons Christmas Vacation - see Monday's entry for my other favorites.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually in October, but I was waylaid this year by the remarkable gall bladder.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No way, Jose!

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Anything my mom makes.

16 Clear lights or colored on the tree? Clear.

17. Favorite Christmas song? Almost anything on the "Christmas with the Rat Pack" CD.

18 Travel at Christmas or stay home? I always travel up to Boise for Christmas because there's no place like home for the holidays.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen {and Rudolph?}

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Usually a star, but this year it's a fancy silver cursive M with red Swarovsky crystals on it. (Thanks mom!)

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? I give my gifts to the kids Christmas Eve and then we open the rest on Christmas morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Crowds. Where do all the people come from? Seriously! On a normal day, I can go to any store and not have to park in Kaysville, but at Christmas time, it feels like I'm parking in Kaysville.

23. Favorite Christmas tradition? Celebrating dad's birthday with a shindig. His bday is Christmas Eve.

24. Up early or sleeping in? I prefer to sleep in, but my mom won't let me. She gets too excited. Plus, we have to get over to Ryan and Carrie's house for the day.

25. Who hands out the gifts? Usually whomever is next to the tree.

26. Does Santa wrap your gifts? He didn't wrap them when I was a kid. Just gifts from mom and dad were wrapped.

27. Do you tell the Christmas story? Yes.

28. Do you leave cookies for Santa? Nope. Poor Santa!

Now, Martie, let's have you start a new tradition! Yes, you could leave cookies for Santa, but better yet, leave ME cookies. The last day your in the office before leaving. I think that's a grand tradition and should start this year!
