Safety First

I'm supposed to be in Burley, Idaho right now for work this week, but lucky for me, I'm not.  I am NOT a fan of Burley.  Ever since I was a child I have dreaded trips to the tiny burgh for visits with extended family.  I am a city girl through and through and Burley is as far from the city as any small farming town could ever be.

I tried driving up there today, honest.  I got as far as Brigham City where I got off the interstate, called my boss and told her that my life totally wasn't worth risking for my job.  Can you say white-out conditions?  Snow was steadily building up on the roads and they were getting slick. I counted 7 slide-offs between Willard and Brigham City.  (I just read on ksl.com that Brigham City got over a foot of snow today.)

I managed to make it back to SLC - white knuckling it all the way - safe and sound.  Bummer for me, though, I get to attempt the trip again on Wednesday.  Keep your fingers crossed that the weather/road conditions will be clear.
