My return to civilization

Welcome to Burley.  The sign that greeted me as I made my way into the small farming community for work purposes on Wednesday.  It was a bright and sunny day, especially in comparison to my failed attempt at driving on Monday, when the heavens decided to open and dump a major amount of snow, thus barring my journey.

I was super relieved at the fact that it wasn't snowing this time around and my drive was uneventful, to say the least.
My camera decided to die on me, so I just have photos that I've pulled off the internet.  This one is for my cousin Cadance.  I know she's always wanted to stay here because they profess to have phones and TVs in all the rooms.  Classy!  Probably pretty upscale, too.
I drove past this a couple of times.  My dad told me that his name is on it, along with his father's and grandfather's.  Pretty cool, I'd say.  I'm sure that my mom's brother, Don, is probably listed on it, too.
Melissa made me swear that I would try the ice cream at the cheese factory while I was in town. She had some burnt almond fudge when she was there last and she swears that it tasted like cheese.  Melissa hates cheese.  Nope, doesn't like it, not one bit.  So, I followed thru on my promise and tried a small cone of some very fresh ice cream.  Probably the freshest I've ever had.

Now, I'm not gonna lie, the first bite did taste a bit like cheese, but I believe that my taste buds had been tricked by Melissa prior to me taking the first lick.  It tasted like really good, fresh ice cream every lick thereafter.  Delicious!  I love ice cream.

I also went to dinner with my dad at Stevo's, which Melissa thought had once been a 7-11, but my dad told me that it had been a bar.  It's on the edge of town, out in the middle of nowhere, but the food was actually pretty good.  We even saw my aunt Cindy and her mom there.  (That's a small town for you.)

My drive home was as uneventful as my drive up.  I was glad to be back in civilization where there are actually restaurants and stores and movie theaters - oh my.

One bad thing, I went to start my car, that had been sitting at work for several days, and it wouldn't start.  I called the Evil Genius, who lives fairly close to work and she said she would come and jump it for me.  (Isn't she the best?)  While I was waiting, I kept trying to start it and it finally kicked into action.  I immediately took it in for a new battery.  I hate car troubles.

Even with that, I was still super happy to be back home.  I trust you all had a good week.  I've got lots of reading to catch up on with everyone's blogs.

I have been to Idaho only once in my life. And this doesn't make me sad.

Sounds like a nice trip. And phones AND tv's in all the rooms? I know where I'm staying if I ever make it up to Burley.

I'm so happy you are home safe and sound. And depite what you claim, it tasted like cheese. That is my story and I am sticking with it.
And at Steve's did you order the filet mignon that comes in a plastic basket? Awe.some!
