My Parents

I feel like I've not blogged in days and days. I've been busy. My mom and dad came for a visit this past weekend. And we had ourselves some fun.

Every time my parents visit, my dad takes over the remote control and the DIY Network is on practically all the live long day. It's his favorite channel next to all of the channels that play old Westerns. (My parents don't have cable, so it's a treat for him.)

I adore my dad. Not many people know this, but he's a goofball. It's a side of his personality that people outside of the family don't see very often. I feel that, as a part of being the fabulous daughter that I am, I must expose his goofiness:

He found this lumbar support at the Dollar Store next to the Ben Franklin store in Roy and had to show it to me. His hands were full of other things, so what did he do with the lumbar support? Stuck it on his head as a hat and then giggled like a school girl at himself all the way up the stairs to my apartment. He cracks me up.

One of the main reasons for their visit was so mom could deliver M-Cat's quilt. It's made out of t-shirts from all of the races M-Cat ran in last year. I think my mom is amazing and the quilt turned out so cute:

And yes, those are M-Cat's crutches. She's a cripple right now - poor thing.

One of mom's favorite things to do when she visits is go to Gardener Village, especially in the fall because she loves to see the witches, and they had most of them on display already. Here's mom catching up with one of them on a park bench:

All in all, a great weekend. Can't wait to go for a visit to the family in October. (One of the SILs is turning 40, but I won't tell which one... at least not yet.)
