That had to have been the most awkward date I've been on in quite some time.
I'm glad it lasted just under an hour. I honestly couldn't be done fast enough. I did try and take my time eating. I didn't swallow my lunch whole, burst up out of my chair and proclaim, "Sorry to eat and run, but I've got a work emergency I have to get back to." I refrained. It was a struggle, but I kept it under control.
I thought my cousin loved me, now I'm questioning her love. (M-Cat says I should call her and tell her she is OFF my donor list. As in - if she needed a kidney and I was the perfect genetic match, it'd be a no go all because of an awkward blind date. ha ha ha)
He was a nice enough guy, but we don't really have anything in common. Not to mention, he appears to be at least 10 years older than me, if not more.
Also, he reminds me too much of this guy I used to work with who drove me absolutely batty. A bit too nerdy for me.
Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Don't know that I gained anything other than a free lunch from Cafe Rio, though.
P.S. Brenda's "distinguished" looking = Martha's definition of nerdy, not Martha's definition of distinguished looking. Now I know why she took that really long pause before answering my question.

i often wonder if my "friends" who set me up on blind dates hate me.....why else would they set me up with THOSE guys.
sorry it didn't work out.
...oh..I guess I just had to read further....hey a free lunch is good though...right!?
...does he have lots of money...because then it might be easier to overlook some of those nerdy..."distinguished" flaws??? ;)
Ouch. That is cold. Off the donor list for sure!
