Adventures with old people

What is it with old people driving the biggest cars money can buy?

I had an elderly couple move into Marie's old apartment this past weekend. (Boyd and J - I can't remember her name, but I do remember it starts with a J.) They're really very nice. Boyd mentioned how quiet it is back here on our end of the complex. I smiled at him and jokingly said, "Yeah. And let's keep it that way. No wild parties. Ok?" He looked at me with the most serious expression I've seen in a long time and said, "We're 77 years old. We don't party." I wanted to tell Boyd he really should lighten up.

Anyway, back to my topic: not only do they have 1 Lincoln Town Car, they have 2. TWO! Who needs 2 Lincoln Town cars? And, the wife, looks like she shouldn't even be driving anymore. She walks so slow and has to use a cane. I'm thinking that the reflexes probably aren't really what they used to be and therefore, she really shouldn't be driving. Especially not a land boat.

Then, they try to park 1 of them under the covered parking. Not a pretty sight. I'm waiting to come out one morning to my rear fender ripped off. I'm scared. Very scared.

I guess I just don't get the draw to land boats. Here's hoping I never will.

*And yes, that really is a pic of one of their Lincolns.

OMG - I can picture the conversation you had about the parties. Um, I think they will likely be the boringest neighbors yet!

What is with old people and boats? My MIL really wants a Lincoln Town Car too. I think its a luxury tank. So when they run into us in our compact cars, they won't get too hurt.

....and do they have two drives that come with the town-car??? That is the only reason to ever ride in one of those....in the back seat with a driver!
