In one word: Stinker!
Fame aimed high, but completely failed to hit its mark. I had such high hopes for this remake, but was sorely disappointed with the end product.
There were too many underdeveloped story lines and not enough plot. In fact, a plot was pretty much missing.
There is one scene where everyone starts dancing, singing and playing some type of instrument in the cafeteria. Michelle leans over to me and says, "Yah, like you'd be able to hear the people singing without microphones over all that noise. That's realistic."
By the end, I was completely bored out of my mind and started making all kinds of comments to Michelle, who thought I was getting louder and louder with each passing moment. I had to do something to entertain myself. Michelle was just as bored, and she is usually pretty easy to please when it comes to movies. She doesn't tend to judge them as harshly as I do. In her words: "The Jennifer Aniston (Love Happens) movie was better than Fame."

Rats! And that was one movie that I was looking forward to. Back in the day I watched that show faithfully! Thanks for the warning.
:~D
Crap. I was hoping it would be good, especially since I loved Kherington from SYTCYD. I guess I'll pass.
Thanks for saving me the 8 bucks. I now can use that for something else. Like a horn for my crutches.
I actually saw a movie in the movie theaters this weekend...SHOCK! We watched Inglorious Bastards...good movie...but was very different than most Quentin Tarantino films.
Good to know. I was gunning to see it until you said that. Shoot.
That is a bummer. I wanted to see it.
I am so glad that I have you to weed out the stinkers for me!
