Just Curious...

What is one item you own that you really should throw away ... but probably never will?

My Leaders of the World - George Washington doll.
I know, I know.  (Hanging my head in shame.)  He's still in the box.  In fact, he's never been out of the box.  He stays packed away in a Rubbermaid bin in my closet, so he isn't even on display anywhere in my home.  (I'm not sure that the ultimate bff even knows about him.)

I was given George as a gift/joke by my friend Cameron when I was 25.  (Yes, I've had him for 11 years now.  What's in your closet?  Don't judge!  Unless you're Kristina, then it's ok.)

It is Cameron's belief that I need to marry a man named George so that he could be the 'George' to my 'Martha'.  (The cheese to my macaroni.  The peanut-butter to my honey.  The ... you get the idea, I'm sure.)

Cameron was constantly on the lookout for a guy named 'George' for me.  When he couldn't find the real thing, he resorted to the George doll.  A very sweet gesture, don't you think?

{Epiphany:: the reason why I'm still single?  No guys around my age named George.}

I've thought about getting rid of George on several occasions, but I just can't seem to part with him.  Maybe it's the memories.  Maybe it's still a tie to Cameron, whom I don't get to see that much anymore.  Regardless of the reason, I have a feeling that George is here to stay.

Your turn::  What is one item that you own that you really should throw away ... but probably never will?  Just curious...

Martha...I love you & I love your blog! It's almost like I am right there with you laughing at your wit and charm. I will watch for a George for you out here in Georgia...maybe I will have some luck.

And I will have to think of the "throw it away" object haunting my closets...there are probably too many to count!!!

Oh my hilarious! I totally want you to marry a George now too. I will be on the look-out for you. But it may involove you moving to here where there's blue skies and sunshine all the time. Will that be a problem?

One thing I have that I should get rid of but probably won't, are my silk mauve and teal flowers from my wedding. Don't worry, I don't display them, I just keep them in a box in the garage.

My new quest? Find a George for our Martha.

What should I throw away? The stupid sweatpants that I wear to the gym to keep me warm, that everyone mocks me in.

You are SO funny...and that doll is scary..but then most dolls creep me out! I will also keep an eye out for a hot "George" here on the East coast!

hmmm...as for me I'm sure there are many things...for example right here in this room I see my Tyra's Beauty Inside & Out book by none other then Tyra Banks herself! Yes, I used to l♥ve her...but that was years ago when she was just a hot body on the posters for Victoria Secret...before she opened her mouth and had something to say! LoL...just kidding she's not that bad I may or may-not watch her show some days! Either way...I should not still have this book! (my love for books also makes it hard for me to part from any of them...I plan on having a library some day in my home that has those ladders that slide along the walls..this book should fit in just nicely!)

oh yea....and Mhasyn's favorite food is Peanut Butter and Honey sandwich!

George is a hottie...that's why you've never found another man. No one could live up to George.

I'm pretty good a de-cluttering. I should probably sell the lodge pole pine bed that my husband bought me as a wedding present but I can't bring myself to do it. I keep hoping that we will add on to the house someday and I'll have a guest room I can put it in. Maybe when the kids move out?

I think after all these years you need to ditch the George idea... Let's try to find you a Harvey or a Dudley.... Harvey and Martha *****... that has a ring to it.

Georges do tend to be hot. Think Seinfeld. ;)
