Thankful Thursday - Patriotic Style

Today, I am particularly thankful for the First Amendment of our Constitution, which allows for free speech.

Here in the good old United States, we have a right to express our opinions. Granted, we may not always agree with what is being said by other people, but they have the right to say what is on their mind, too.  We can choose to listen, or ignore.  It's up to us what we do or don't do with what has been said.

Honestly, I can appreciate the fact that Anonymous (see previous post) stood up and said that they found something on my blog offensive.  (Heaven knows I had no intention of being impertinent. I just found the poster funny.)  Anonymous wasn't mean about their suggestion, but I would've had more respect for them had they actually signed the comment.  And, I probably wouldn't have made a big deal about it.  Probably would've just taken note and deleted it, appreciating the fact that they spoke up for something they believe in.

Thankfully, it is the First Amendment that allows me to say such things as::
  • I find the new socialized healthcare proposals to be absolutely ludicrous.  How about our government work on fixing Medicare and Community Health Centers before working on the rest of the country?
  • I think a person should run only if they're being chased.
  • I'm sick of all the Michael Jackson coverage.
  • I'm not a fan of President Obama.  (Not even gonna become a fan on Facebook.)
  • That's insane!  (No offense to the people with mental health issues out there.)
  • That town is a mole in the armpit of Idaho.  (I actually said this in reference to the town of Rupert.)
Clearly I jest here at the end of this post, but that's the beauty of the First Amendment.  Enjoy, my friends.  Enjoy.

Whaa?
What town is a mole on the armpit of Idaho? That's a funny statement w/o explaination, maybe only if you are a relatively new reader to your blog like I am - Explain...?

Let's see which place would we rather NOT visit more? Rupert or what was that place I went for work? Where Cassia is? Oh yeah.....Burley.

I agree that Burley is clearly a hell-hole. Unfortunately, that is where your niece and nephews are going to be this weekend -- poor, poor children.

Oh my gosh, my dad is from Rupert and I have relatives there and in Burley. lol.. I won't tell though. My dad lives next to me in WA now. He was saved :)

I am thankful for the freedom of speech which is clearly under attack right now. Which just makes me crazier than I already am.

Great little list and sorry about anonymous. We all have those 'peep'les. Never could understand why they hide when they voice. It puzzles me greatly.
