I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again and again and again... The book is ALWAYS better than the movie. That's not to say that I didn't enjoy this one, I did.
I read this book awhile ago, so I didn't have it fresh in my mind for comparison to the movie when Michelle and I saw it on Saturday.
For the most part, it was pretty good. It wasn't as quick paced as Star Trek, or some of the other action movies that are out there, but it's a mystery, so of course it would be a bit slower in parts.
I about tossed my cookies when I saw Tom Hanks swimming in a Speedo at the beginning of the movie. I've never found him to be an attractive man. Fortunately for all, they only show him swimming and not standing still in said Speedo. (Crisis averted.)
At one point, when Robert Langdon (the main character) and the police are running around Rome trying to catch the bad guy in the act, I leaned over to Michelle and said, "Unbelievable! They expect us to believe that they made it in 4 minutes from one church to the next thru busy Rome traffic? I don't think so..."
Unless you are a die hard Dan Brown fan, you can probably wait for this one to come out on DVD.

Yeah, it was pretty lame.
Tom Hanks lost me with his HBO show....crap, and I loved him!
i enjoyed it, but it's not a MUST SEE.
OR you could just skip it all together.
Tom Hanks is an asshat.
Yeah, think I'm gonna wait. I kind of fell out of love with Tom when he started bashing the church.
I guess I'll just come out and say it.....I LOVE BIG LOVE regardless of Tom Hanks!!
I read the Angles & Demons book a while back too...I am thinking I will like the book better just like I was not ans impressed with the movie The Da Vinci Code...Loved that book better too! But I'll watch it when it comes out on DVD!
I LOVED the book and the movie didn't even follow the storyline - they changed the ending.
I was disappointed by the movie.
Tom Hanks in a speedo = SICK NAST!!
I liked the DiVinci Code book, but the movie was just so-so. Hard to understand even after reading the book. Seeing as how I didn't even bother to read the book on this one, I'll probably avoid the movie.
