Sweet!

I have a wicked sweet tooth.  It's true.  I'll take sweet over salty any day.  (Probably not a shocking confession to most of you that know me.)  I used to blame it on my dad (ice cream almost every night when I was a kid - yum), but I've since come to learn that it's pretty common amongst those of us afflicted with PCOS.

In a daring move (for me, at least), I've been trying to seriously cut back and rein the sweet tooth in.  Not an easy task for me, that's for sure.  I'm trying to get some poundage off of my body and the sweet tooth doesn't help my efforts any.

I'm a fan of watching The Biggest Loser and they've been doing these cheesy little product placement bits that just make me laugh out loud.  Bob, the trainer, pulled some of the girls aside to talk about how they can help curb their sweet tooth cravings and his helpful hint was to chew some Extra sugar-free gum.  Silly Bob!  That's just ridiculous.  Like a little piece of gum can help with that monster.  Puh-leez!  That's just ludicrous… right?

I'll admit, I decided to give it a whirl.  I purchased some Extra sugar-free Island Cooler flavored gum  and I have to say, that in the evenings, when that sweet tooth monster starts rearing its ugly, roaring head, I've been going for the gum instead and it's not too bad.  (Sure, this is after I've had my fat-free/sugar-free pudding cup, or a Chex Turtle bar, but still…)  We'll see how it goes.  I'm sure it can't hurt anything.

Way to go! It has helped me too. The minty gum works too, because it fills your mouth with that flavor and then nothing tastes very good after that. I so have a sweet tooth too. I didnt know it was a symptom of PCOS. Interesting!

You go girl! Whatever works, I am a fan of the minty kind myself, but hey, whatever spins your socks
