I was a good little American and performed my civic duty by voting today. I didn't even have to push any old people out of line in order to get my vote in. (Of course, I would never push, shove, or beat-up on the elderly. I love older people! Right Ry?) At the time I went, there wasn't a line at all. I walked in, signed my name, voted and walked out.
As I left my polling center, I felt very patriotic and even got a bit misty-eyed at the overwhelming feeling of privilege and pride at living in a country where I enjoy the freedom to voice my opinion by voting.
I picked up my mail on the way back to my apartment. Imagine my surprise when I opened up the statement from my recent excursion to the hospital. (What?!? It's here already? It's only been 2 weeks. Man! They sure don't waste any time, do they.)

Holy Crap!!! I knew it was going to be expensive, but W-O-W! Thank goodness for insurance, right? Right. At least I hope so. (I was just glad my dad wasn't here to see it. He would've keeled over as his wallet hugged his butt with fear. And he doesn't even have to pay it. Love ya dad!)
I also had a card in the mail from my insurance company that says, "We have been advised of medical services that you or a family member has received or will be receiving. SelectHealth Insurance Coach is a program available to help you understand how your insurance benefits will apply to certain medical procedures." How about a program that will pay the bill in its entirety? I guess an Insurance Coach is a good thing for those who have no idea how medical billing and insurance companies work. Good thing I've got lots of experience in the field.
P.S. - I'm very proud of all of you that exercised your right to vote today. Way to go!
