It's time for another edition of 'My Favorite Monday'. I honestly don't know where the time goes. My 'favorite' for this Monday has to be Dr. Mark Stevens. (What?!? you say. Martha likes a doctor??? Has the earth moved on its axis? Is it the end of the world as we know it? Nope. I really think he's fabulous, even though he took a scalpel to my perfectly unblemished abs.) Even my friend, Nurse Noss, told me I couldn't have had a better surgeon.
I had my post-op visit with Dr. Stevens today (2 weeks to the day since my surgery). He is so incredibly nice and I honestly can't believe my good fortune in getting him as my surgeon. (The name plate at his office shows his title as 'Director of Trauma Services'. That's for the whole of Intermountain Medical Center. Wow!)
The first thing he said to me when he walked into the room was, "So, did you drive yourself this time?" I'm sure he fully expected to see Michelle with me. The next thing he said was, "Well, are you feeling as good as you look?" (See?- super nice guy.)
He took a look at my incision sites and proclaimed me healed. He even said I could start going back to the gym AND back to my workouts with Steve; just so long as I take it easy and listen to my body. If it hurts, stop. (How long do you think Steve will let me milk that one? hhhhmmmm...)
As I was leaving, I told him that a friend of mine, Tiffany Noss, used to work on the surgical floor when they were up at LDS Hospital. He told me that he remembers Tiffany and that it didn't surprise him that the two of us are friends. (It was definitely meant as a compliment, not a slam. I promise.)
Well, there's the post surgery update - I'm good.
On another note - don't forget to vote tomorrow.

I am glad you have fully recovered! I hope Steve lets you milk it for as long as you need it but you keep up the good work! I am so jealous and impressed with your dedication to the excersising. You ROCK!!
