Wednesday = butt kicking. Yep, time for one of Steve's grueling leg/lower body workouts.Today's workout started with 50 squats while we held our arms straight up in the air. Seriously, what is the point of holding your arms straight up in the air? Michelle asked Steve this very question and he gave some lame response about balance and working the shoulders. Whatever! My arms started falling asleep from lack of blood.
Steve then had us work on a machine very similar to the one in the picture. Have you ever tried getting out of this thing? Trust me, it isn't pretty. There really is no graceful way to extract yourself from it.
First of all, you're reclined on your back with your legs up in the air. After you've done your reps and have racked the weight, you drop your legs so your feet touch the floor, but you're still in a reclined position on your back. You can't just roll to the side and stand up because your legs hit up against the side bar. So, you have to try and swing your legs up and out to the side and then stand up. On top of it all, your legs are weak and shaky from all the squats and other weight machine reps you've been doing.
Poor Michelle totally floundered trying to get out. She looked like a turtle caught on her back - legs and arms flailing about until she finally rolled to the floor onto her hands and knees and then into a standing position.
I finally figured out that my arms were long enough that I could grab hold of the foot plate and pull myself up before stepping over the side bar. This proved to be a more graceful 'dismount' than previously performed. Worth at least a 6.5.
Tomorrow, my legs will be screaming at me for sure, but I'll try to console them with promises of smaller jeans in the future.

I think you have figured out their way of getting you to end the excersise with a sit-up. Now Michelle on the other hand has accomplished there other goal of getting footage for America's Funniest Home videos. :o)
