My youngest nephew is not only cute, but he's also pretty darn funny. We had quite the hilarious conversation over the phone a couple of weeks ago. He was pretending that the phone reception was breaking up as he was talking to me. He then pretended that we were talking via Skype, which we weren't. He is now living in Germany with his mom and dad (my brother). They're SO far away.
Things are definitely different now from when my family went to Turkey in 1980. We didn't have Skype or e-mail back then. We had to wait for snail mail to arrive on the slow boat to China Turkey.
I miss them.
I am grateful I got to spend some time with them last month before they left. (Their trip was postponed by a week due to that unpronounceable volcano erupting over in Iceland.) I certainly can't wait to go to visit them in Germany.
